A Packaged Equipment Contractor license authorizes professionals to install, replace, and repair pre-assembled mechanical equipment such as packaged HVAC units, walk-in coolers and freezers, ice machines, and other similar systems. Contractors must have a thorough understanding of mechanical systems, safety regulations, and applicable building codes. To obtain this license, applicants must meet experience requirements, pass the required exam, and comply with state licensing regulations.
There are 80 questions in this examination given by PSI. You will need to answer 56 questions correctly in order to pass. You are allowed four hours to complete this test. You must also pass the SC Business Management & Law if you do not have such.
